'Beauty and the Beast' comes to Pepperdine

Chamberlains' Performing & Fine Arts Academy will present "Beauty and the Beast" at 7 p.m. from Tues. to Thurs., Aug. 15 to 17, in Smothers Theatre on the Pepperdine University campus in Malibu.

Based on the Academy Awardwinning animated feature, the stage version includes all the songs from

the film written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, plus new songs written for the Broadway version by Menken and Tim Rice. A cast of 100 children ages 6 to 15 from the Conejo and San Fernando valleys and Los Angeles will be featured.

All tickets are $12. Tickets are not available through Pepperdine's
