Last chance for YMCA programs

There is still time to sign up for summer swim lessons for all ages and skill levels at the Triunfo YMCA. Group, semiprivate and private lessons are offered. Classes will take place at Agoura High School, 28545 W. Driver Ave., Agoura Hills.

"Our instructors and lifeguards are fully certified and trained so you know your child will be learning from the best," said Patrick Yarrow, Triunfo YMCA program director.

The YMCA also offers an open swim time to YMCA members from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The cost is $3 for non-YMCA members and free to members.

The Triunfo YMCA serves Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Oak Park. For a swim lesson schedule and for information about class availability, call the Triunfo YMCA at (818) 707-9622. For youth who enjoy ex

treme water sports, the Triunfo YMCA is hosting a surf camp to Imperial Beach in San Diego from Aug. 7 to 11. Camp Surf is for youth entering grades 5 through 8.

"Campers learn to surf, body board and body surf while also learning about survival skills and ocean safety," said Yarrow. "The camp is right on the beach so campers will go to sleep each night to the sound of the surf. It's a great experience for kids who love the ocean."

Campers will be supervised at all times on shore and in the water. Surf instructors are first aid and CPR certified. Campers will be supplied with surfboards and body boards but can also bring their own equipment.

The cost of the camp is $390 and includes transportation and food. For more information, call Yarrow at (818) 707-9622.
