New dentist takes over Westlake practice

Kathleen Carson, DDS Kathleen Carson, DDS has taken over the dental arts practice of Michael Rieder of Westlake Village, who has retired. Rieder was in practice in the Conejo for more than 30 years.

Carson has been working in the office part-time since last January and began a full-time practice July 1.

She earned a bachelor's degree with honors from UC Santa Barbara, and the doctor of dental surgery degree cum laude and with honors in 2001 from UCLA. She passed state and national exams that encompassed testing and dentistry.

At UCLA she was presented with the Excellence in Restorative Dentistry Award and the Academy of General Dentistry Award. Her general practice dentistry was with the Veterans Administration in Sepulveda.

Carson's specialty is in cosmetic and full mouth reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Carson practiced dentistry in Newport Beach, where she grew up. She and her husband, Rob, who was raised in Camarillo, decided to relocate four years ago to Westlake Village because they love the community.

Services range from basic dental procedures for filling cavities to teeth whitening inoffice, repair of cracked or broken teeth with bonding or allporcelain crowns, smile makeover and full-mouth rejuvenation.

Carson is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Orange County Dental Society, the Ventura/Santa Barbara Dental Society and the OKU National Dental Honor Society at UCLA, Epsilon Zeta Chapter.
