Gypsies present original play

Strawberries and cream this morning, a royal wedding in three months, horseback riding lessons. . . . Princess Telephone has everything a princess might want--or does she? Life at the castle will never be the same, thanks to the arrival of traveling entertainers, giant grasshoppers and other surprises in an original tale written and directed by Susanna Miller especially for Gypsies in a Trunk.

"The Wraggle Taggle Gypsies, Oh!" will be presented as part of the all-volunteer troupe's 12th season of free Fairy Tales in the Park. All performances are presented outdoors and offer children and their families an opportunity to experience live theater in a relaxed and picturesque setting.

The performances of "The Wraggle Taggle Gypsies, Oh!" are scheduled as follows. The show will have two performances on Sat., Aug. 5, the first at 11 a.m. at Foxfield Park, Westlake Village then repeated at 4 p.m. in the Rancho Simi Amphitheater at Rancho Simi Community Park, Simi Valley. At 11:30 a.m. Sat., Aug. 12, the show will be presented behind the Camarillo Community Center at 1605 E. Burnley St., Camarillo.

Guests are welcome to bring blankets, lunch or snacks but are asked to leave pets home. At intermissions the troupe will welcome donations to support their expenses. Call (661) 718-3968 for further information.
