Get a closeup view as ancient history is excavated The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County invites visitors to watch from a special observation area as Page Museum paleontologists and volunteers excavate Ice Age asphalt deposits from Pit 91 in the La Brea Tar Pits, recovering bones from sabertoothed cats and dire wolves now through Fri., Sept. 10, The Pit 91 visitors' observation station is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. This activity is free to the public. The Page Museum is a component of the National History Museum of Los Angeles County and is at 5801 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles. The number is (323) 934-7243. |
