Handcrafted furniture a Milligan specialty

Connie Milligan-Milano has opened her PJ Milligan Mercantile store in Camarillo because she says she's "addicted" to her business.

The Milligan family business is well established in Santa Barbara and is known for its handcrafted heirloom quality furniture and one-of-a-kind kitchens.

After 29 years in Santa Barbara, Milano and her family moved to Camarillo planning for retirement, but opened a new store instead.

PJ Milligan Mercantile showcases handcrafted wood furniture for every room in the house. The store can also design a single piece or a dream kitchen. All furniture is handmade in Santa Barbara and is very affordable.

"Mercantile" is an oldfashioned word for a store that sells lots of different kinds of goods. PJ Milligan Mercantile offers lamps, frames, china tea sets, flower arrangements, arts, unique handmade jewelry, candles and more.

Milano provides personal service and family stories along with the furniture selection.

"Quality does not have to cost a fortune," Milano said. "Handcrafting fine furniture since 1902, the Milligan clan will continue into the next generation."

PJ Milligan Mercantile is open daily at 64 Daily Drive, Las Posas Plaza in Camarillo.
