Malibu Arts Festival expands

This year's Malibu Arts Festival promises to offer something for everyone. Celebrating its 35th year, the event is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat. and Sun., July 29 and 30 outside the Malibu Civic Center in downtown Malibu, near Pepperdine University.

The Malibu Chamber of Commerce produces this event, which showcases more than 200 exhibits and artists' booths with original art from all over California, including 40 new artists. This year's presenting sponsor is Villa Malibu.

The festival has expanded to include an entertainment stage; a children's workshop; and a new dining terrace featuring menu items from restaurants such as Sunset, Roy's and D'Amore's.

Admission is free and parking is $7. For more information, call the Malibu Chamber of Commerce at (310) 456-9025 or visit www.malibu.org.
