Westlake Yacht Club weekend fundraiser supports area charities

The Westlake Yacht Club will host a weekend devoted to benefiting area charities on Sat. and Sun., Aug. 5 and 6 at The Landing on Westlake Lake, near the yacht club at 32123 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.

On Saturday sailors will participate in the 13th annual Sail-a-Thon for charity. A light breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. and a barbecue lunch is offered during the event. Entrants raise funds from pledges received for the course laps sailed during the day.

At 4 p.m. Sunday a Food & Wine Festival will be presented. Guests may sample food and wine, and bid at silent and live auctions. Admission is $35 per person with pre-purchase of tickets before Aug. 2 or $45 at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Westlake Sailing Foundation, Casa Pacifica Child Crisis Center and Adopt-a-Future Inc.
