The Commons has events planned just for kids The Commons at Calabasas shopping center is a fun destination for families this summer, with a number of events planned "Just 4 Kids" from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays on the community stage. The following is a schedule of performances. Admission is free. July 25: Joe Gandelman has been called the silliest and funniest of children's ventriloquists. His show is full of wacky jokes and y outrageous puppet characters- one even squirts water. Parents are advised that raincoats might be a good idea for their children as they could get a soaking. Aug. 1: An art workshop will be offered. This craft will challenge children to think creatively. Every participant will create something colorful and fun to take home. Parents are advised that their children could get messy. Aug. 8: Puppeteer Scott Land will present a marionette show. His puppets have appeared in films and on television, and he's known to possess the magic touch to make puppets come to life right before the audience's eyes. Aug. 15: Direct from New York City, Melissa brings a show full of wonderful original music and classic songs to her "Melissa's Music" performance. Her show is full of interactive toe-tapping fun. Melissa is a trained music and movement specialist who will get the audience involved. Aug. 22: Magician Allen Oshiro will present "Illusions by Allen." Oshiro has been performing magic for more than 15 years. He does classic tricks in a new way and introduces the audience to tricks they may have never seen. Children will get a chance to do some magic of their own. Oshiro is a noted Magic Castle entertainer. Aug. 29: Tonight's show is "Juggling and Comedy with Mark." Mark brings a unique sense of humor combined with some top-notch feats of juggling. He has performed worldwide and been featured in films and television.
