Teradyne gives local scholarship

Bryan Farris of Westlake Village has received a $5,000 Alex d'Arbeloff Scholarship, an award established to honor the co-founder of Teradyne Inc.

Farris is an engineering major at UC Berkeley.

Teradyne established the scholarship program in 2001 to recognize d'Arbeloff's lifelong commitment to technology and education. Thirty scholarships are awarded each year to children, stepchildren or grandchildren of Teradyne employees worldwide.

Teradyne is a worldwide supplier of sophisticated equipment used to test electronics systems. Last year the company posted sales of more than $1 billion and employed 4,000 people worldwide. New website provided for movers

Westlake Village-based Move has announced the launch of the WelcomeWagon.com website that features an online local business directory with information about local businesses and service professionals, consumer reviews and special offers for movers and their neighbors.

The new Welcome Wagon website enables local businesses to market themselves online to a highly targeted audience, company officials said. Axel Buendia has joined the MBSG team as a nonprofit solutions consultant and certified trainer.

Buendia has provided accounting and consulting services for many nonprofit organizations ranging from educational institutions to community-based associations. He has spearheaded accounting software implementation projects.

Buendia has a master's degree in technology management.
