CITY CELEBRATION-Reyes Adobe Days promises to deliver lots of laughs when it returns this fall. An appearance by comedian Gallagher was one of the highlights of last year's event. The city of Agoura Hills has announced that the second annual Reyes Adobe Days will be coming this fall with events beginning throughout the city in September and continuing through October.

This event celebrates the city's rich heritage with fun and cultural experiences for all ages.

Scheduled events include a hay fever teen dance, Sept. 29; Reyes

Adobe Days pageant, Sept. 30; Fiesta at the Adobe, a senior luncheon, Oct. 13; a concert, Oct. 13; a three-day carnival, Oct. 13 to 15; a parade with a Bonanza on the Boulevard play area followed by a Day at the Adobe, Sat., Oct. 14; and an 8K run, pancake breakfast and horse play day equestrian event on Sun., Oct. 15.

A Day at the Adobe is an allday family event that will showcase the Reyes Adobe historical site where there will be early-California music and dance, children's games, pony rides, an art expo as well as demonstrations on blacksmithing, rancho cooking and adobe brick making and free museum tours of the early-1800s period adobe home and barn.

Adobe Days highlights the city's rich rancho history and the stories of those who helped settled the region over more than a century.

"This year we are adding even more great events to Reyes Adobe Days," said Nick Newkirk, community services coordinator for the city of Agoura Hills.”A three-day carnival is coming to the Whizin's Center, and we'll be having a pageant to select individuals from several age categories to reign over Reyes Adobe Days. We're planning loads of extreme fun and entertainment for all ages while offering an appreciation and understanding of early California history."

The city of Agoura Hills is calling on businesses and residents to help sponsor, plan and/or volunteer at the many events included in Reyes Adobe Days. Parade applications are now available at the city's recreation center at 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd.
