Lowe's will bring 'Canoga Park' atmosphere

Barry Florence's referenced a supposed "groundswell of support" in a letter to The Acorn last week that favored Lowe's development initiative. I would like to ask Mr. Florence if he thinks that if any such "groundswell" exists, was it obtained by "duping" some, if not many, of those who signed the Lowe's petition, as Ms. Herman-Rodriguez noted in a previous letter?

And those supposed "new shops and restaurants" Mr. Florence wrote of? He, and others in the city, might be well-advised to study the proposed initiative carefully, because nothing in it requires Lowe's to put such businesses in. Further, no signed contracts for any such businesses have been put forward.

It's entirely within the realm of possibility that the city could end up with nail salons and massage parlors. For other ideas, just visit the Lowe's in Canoga Park.

Finally, the "park-like setting" Mr. Florence admired might be better characterized as a parking lot setting, as the amount of asphalt-covered parking spaces appear to exceed the less significant space provided for shops and eating outlets.
