Stream restoration underway

Mountains Restoration Trust has announced that a stream restoration project will begin this summer at Headwaters Corner at Calabasas to help improve the natural riparian habitat along Dry Canyon Creek.

The State Department of Water Resources, Urban Stream Restoration Program, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will also be working on the project to preserve, improve and increase the state's wetland and riparian habitats.

The trust is sponsoring a onehour tour and presentation to give the community an opportunity to

learn more about the stream restoration project and provide insight into the city of Calabasas and the interpretive center.

Headwaters Corner at Calabasas is dedicated to demonstrating how urban communities can live within the natural environment and to teaching the cultural history of the Santa Monica Mountains.

The public tour will be Sat., July 15 at 10 a.m. at Headwaters Corner, 23075 Mulholland Highway, Calabasas, CA 91302.
