Remembering Jungleland The Ventura County Museum of History and Art will host the next in its series of Family Time presentations, "Jungleland Safari: Marvelous Masks and Puppets," from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sun., July 16 at the museum, 100 E. Main St., Ventura. Admission is free. The event will feature arts and crafts for the whole family, inspired by Jungleland, which once existed where today's Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza now stands. Jungleland was created in the 1920s as a place to house exotic animals for the movies. It later became a tourist attraction and closed in 1968. |
