Learn in-line skating in Calabasas this summer

Learn in-line skating at classes presented by the city of Calabasas Community Services Department.

Classes begin Tues., July 11 and continue weekly through Aug. 1. Children ages 4 to 8 will meet from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Youth ages 9 and up and adults will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The program fee is $100.

The class will include games with an emphasis on safety, fun and positive social interaction. Instructors certified by the California Skate School use skill-building games to teach children the basics of in-line skating, including how to stop, glide and turn.

Students will learn how to put on their equipment properly and will improve their balance, strength and endurance with tricks, skills and drills.

The Skate School Van is fully equipped with Rollerblade inline skates for all levels, helmets, wrist guards, and knee and elbow pads. All equipment is provided free of charge for lessons.
