The location: Southbound Kanan Road at Canwood Street

The problem: On Kanan Road at the old Canwood Street, a left-turn signal used to control traffic turning left. On Kanan Road at the new Canwood Street, however, there is no left-turn signal to control traffic turning left.

What's up with that?

Possible solutions: The city should install a left-turn light at the new Canwood Street.

Immediate action: According to Ken Berkman, Agoura Hills city engineer, the city will install a left-turn signal at the new intersection.

"The city needed to do a traffic survey before installing that new left turn phase for southbound Kanan Road vehicles turning into the new Canwood Street," Berkman said. "That survey was completed last month and the design of the new signal is underway. That project will be done after the Kanan Interchange Project is completed.

According to Berkman, the old Canwood Street left turn has been eliminated as a part of the Kanan interchange project.
