Stories are a big smoke screen First I would like to ask if this newspaper has a specific agenda. The anti-smoking articles are way overdone. A person should have the right to commit a legal act in the place they live, period. If you do not like the smell or health issues of secondhand smoke, close the window. When you start infringing on individual rights, the door is opened to infringe on all rights. If a individual is allergic to cats, should they be banned because a neighber lets his or her cat into my yard? If a person over 18 wants to make the choice to smoke and is on their property (rented or owned), so be it. You can close your window. I thought that most adults knew how to close a window, but maybe not in Calabasas. John Matz Calabasas Editor's note: The Acorn does not have an "agenda" with regards to the Calabasas secondhand smoke ordinance, but as long as the city is making news with the law, we will report it. |
