Fourth of July events around town

The following holiday events will be offered in the area on Tues., July 4:

Calabasas Fireworks

Advance ticket purchase ($10) is required for admission to the Calabasas July Fourth Fireworks Spectacular from 5 to 10 p.m. at Calabasas High School. The event includes live bands, fire and drum show and free children's play zone. For more information, call (818) 880-6461.

The city's Fourth of July Spectacular also includes foot races, pet show and "summer splash party" in the morning at the Tennis and Swim Center. A first-ever July 4 Spirit Parade will begin at 1 p.m. at Park Grenada and Parkway Calabasas.

Simi Valley Fireworks

The Rotary Club of Simi Valley (Noontime Club) hosts the annual Fourth of July Fireworks and Concert at Santa Susana Park beginning at 1 p.m., with live entertainment by several bands, special children's area with fun activities, crafts booths and food vendors. Admission is free and fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. For more information, call (805) 581-2743

Veterans Honored

A ceremony to honor veterans is scheduled at 10 a.m. at Rancho Tapo Community Park and Veterans Plaza, 3700

Avenida Simi, Simi Valley. Admission is free and the service is open to the public. For more information, call (805) 584-4453.

Westlake Village Parade

The Westlake Village Junior Women's Club will sponsor the 37th annual Community July 4 Parade at 10 a.m.

Participants will assembly at 9:45 a.m. at the Westlake Urgent Care Outpatient Center parking lot, corner of Agoura Road and Lakeview Canyon,

Calaband travel four blocks to Bennett Park.

No registration fee is required. Participants may bring decorated bicycles, strollers and wagons, but no motorized vehicles or pets.

Entertainment during the event will include clowns, balloon figures, children's temporary tattoos and free refreshments at Bennett Park. Reagan Presiden-

tial Library

Independence Day festivities to celebrate the nation's 230th birthday are scheduled at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tues., July 4.

Activities will include music, games, presidential look-alikes, face painting, storytell-ing, allAmerican food and patriotic concerts by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West and the Los Angeles Police Department Band.

Fourth of July activities are free. Regular museum admission rates apply to see the exhibits.

The library is at 40 Presidential Drive in Simi Valley.
