Bus riders get free flags

As a token of appreciation to the thousands of people who rely on Thousand Oaks Transit to take them where they need to go, and in recognition of Independence Day, bus riders will receive a small American flag as they board the buses on Mon., July 3. Transit supporters can also pick up a flag on Tues., July 4 during The Oaks mall celebration.

This rider appreciation event is a partnership between the city of Thousand Oaks and MV Transportation Inc., the compared hired by the city to manage and operate the bus service.

Thousand Oaks Transit ended the first five months of this year with the largest ridership in its history with an additional 16,500 customers. By using public transportation, riders help reduce traffic, air pollution and conserve energy resources.
