Viewpoint student enters USC college program

Alexander Shams, son of Ahmad and Victoria Shams of Agoura Hills and a junior at Viewpoint School in Calabasas, has been selected to participate in the Resident Honors Program at USC.

Shams is one of 21 students, selected to participate in this highly competitive early entrance honors program this fall.

He has also been awarded a dean's scholarship from USC.

Shams will be enrolled in the Thematic Option Program, an interdisciplinary honors program.

At Viewpoint, Shams was the op-ed editor for the school's newspaper, assistant editor for the literary magazine, president of the Animal Rights Club, and member of the Quill and Scroll national honors society.
