Not happy with Agoura Village

Among the many traffic issues in the Agoura Village Specific Plan, there is one that is being whitewashed with very weak rationale and misleading explanations by the city and its consultants. It concerns the roundabout at the intersection of Kanan and Agoura roads.

It is an established fact that Kanan Road is the single major county arterial thoroughfare between PCH and the 101 Freeway for this area. Many surrounding communities as far away as Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley use Kanan to reach the coastal areas. Yet the city insists on intentionally placing a "significant landmark" for the Village right in the middle of Kanan Road traffic.

During the public comment period, 250 opposing petition signatures were submitted to the council stating that, due to many flaws, these documents should be returned to the city staff for revisions.
