No rate increase The residential planned increase of 10 percent is way outside normal logic for sewer service. Salaries are increasing about 3 percent this year, not 10 percent. And your electric costs can't possibily be increasing in relation to this requested increase. The local garbage service in Oak Park just transferred to a new company that just confirmed the same rate this year as last. How are they able to hold the line on costs when they are a hugely gasoline-dependent industry with fast rising fuel costs to operate their truck fleet? Time to revisit this unacceptable 10 percent sewer rate increase by getting aggressive with cost containment and improving efficiency levels. Dick Venn Oak Park |
