Oak Park Community Foundation seeks trustee

The Community Foundation for Oak Park's board of trustees is seeking an Oak Park resident to fill a vacant position on the board, which normally meets four times a year.

Interested candidates should submit a letter of application to the foundation at P.O. Box 291, Agoura Hills, CA 913760291.The letter should mention any past civic service and what contribution the candidate might make toward the governance and growth of the foundation.

The foundation was created in 1979 and supports volunteer efforts in the community as well as raising funds for community programs and projects.

More than half the foundation's funds are spent in support of students in the Oak Park Unified School District. And well over half the volunteers within the activity committees are involved in school-related programs.

The foundation also hosts candidate forums for local elections.
