City invites students to take free shuttle to schoo The city of Agoura Hills is footing the bill for students who want to ride the public school bus this summer. Each year, the Las Virgenes Unified School District alternates the location of summer school. This summer, classes will be held in Calabasas. Lupin Hill Elementary, A.E. Wright Middle School and Calabasas High School started summer school this week. The Agoura Hills bus program will be available to students throughout the sixweek summer school programs. And since gasoline prices have skyrocketed, city officials wanted to ease the burden of families by offering the shuttle service for free. Riders on the buses are required to obtain a free express pass from the city. Without the pass, the cost to ride the bus is $2 (in exact change) each way. Passes may be obtained at the A g o u r a Hills Recre ation Center at 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Agoura Hills. For further information on routes and schedules, call the center at (818) 597-7365. -Stephanie Bertholdo |
