Youth teams pile up big wins and championship trophies


THAT'S HOT-The Red Hot Chili Peppers, an AYSO girls U-12 All-Star team representing Region 4, won the second-place medal in the Torrance Armed Forces Day Tournament. BACK-TO-BACK-The WAGS U-8 Lightning All-Star team recently won its second consecutive tournament in Camarillo. Starting pitcher Ava DeGrinis threw a no-hitter and was outstanding for the Lightning. MIGHTY DUCKS FLEX THEIR MUSCLE-The Ducks of the Tri-Valley Roller Hockey League played the Kings for the Squirt Level championship Sat., June 3 in 100-degree heat. Both teams played a good game, with the Ducks winning, 3-1.
