Outstanding Calabasas High School Seniors


Mary Watts Mary Watts  will  graduate Calabasas  High  School  with over  100  theater  productions under her belt. She's been a theater performer and dancer since she was 4 years old. Watts has participated in several performing arts festivals, including the Shakespeare Festival.  She's  the  president  of  the CHS Theater Arts Club. Watts knows several forms of dance, including  ballet,  tap,  jazz  and hip-hop. She plans to attend San Francisco State  University  to study political science and theater arts. Samantha Marder Samantha Marder will graduate from Calabasas High School with  a  softball  scholarship  to Ohio State  University.  Marder plays catcher.  In her freshman year at CHS, Marder  made  second-team  all Marmonte League. In her sophomore,  junior  and  senior  years, she  made  first-team  all Marmonte League. This year she was MVP.   Marder  recently  won  the 2006 Pearl D. Mazor Award for Outstanding Jewish Female High School  Scholar Athlete  of  the Year, a national award. Samantha Marder Samantha Marder will graduate from Calabasas High School with a softball scholarship to Ohio State University. Marder plays catcher. Lauren Plotkin Calabasas  High  School  senior Lauren Plotkin will join the Denver Pioneer Leadership Program at the University of Denver next year. This  year,  Plotkin  was  her class's community service commissioner, where she organized several  fundraisers,  including one for Hurricane Katrina victims.  She  worked  with  the school and the Adopt-A-Family program  to  help  five  families this year, offering much needed food,  appliances  and  clothing. Plotkin also has been involved with B'nai B'rith program that provides  leadership  development. As a freshman and sophomore,  Rackhohn  was  class president. As a junior, she was class treasurer. She received a 2220 on the SAT and her school recognized her as an AP scholar with distinction. In school, she made a difference by voicing her opinion and writing  important  articles  in  the Calabasas High School newspaper. Three years ago, she was one of only two sophomores to get on the school newspaper staff.  During her junior year, Goldsmith was the co-editor for features, and this year, as a senior, she's the chief editor.
