Calabasas offers summer family movies, creative class

The city of Calabasas Community Services Department will present its summer kickoff "Movies Under the Stars" program in conjunction with a family skate night from 7 to 10 p.m. Fri., June 23 at de Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road, Calabasas.

There will be a showing of the family movie "Shark Tale," music, skating, games, crafts and more. Movie snacks may be purchased or attendees are welcome to bring a picnic basket.

All ages are welcome and admission is free.

The department will also offer "Caped Crusaders: a Super

hero Workshop" for ages 3 to 7 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Fridays, June 30 to July 28 at de Anza Park.

This creative workshop encourages boys and girls to uncover a secret identity and become a superhero. Each week is a new adventure. The fee is $79.

In addition, this summer the department will offer a variety of computer basics classes for children 7 and younger. Call for information on age divisions, times, locations and fees.
