Relay for Life in Calabasas

The fourth annual Calabasas Relay for Life is coming soon to the campus of Calabasas High School, 22855 W. Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas. The event lasts 24 hours, from 10 a.m. Sat., June 24 to 10 a.m. Sun., June 25.

Sponsored by the American Cancer Society, the popular com

munity event helps raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. Staged as a 24-hour "relay," the event will be filled with fun, fellowship and festivities, said Jennifer Bercy, one of the event coordinators.

People of all ages camp out on the school grounds and create a community party atmosphere, Bercy said.

Last year's efforts raised more than $125,000 and the goal this year is to top $200,000.

All cancer survivors in any stage of treatment or remission are asked to join in the opening lap where they will be saluted.
