Lowe's vote will be costly

There they go again.

Unable to get a go-ahead from the Westlake Village City Council after numerous town hall meetings and council hearings, where the voices who attended were overwhelmingly in opposition, Lowe's is back for a second bite, this time pushing a ballot initiative.

They certainly want what they want, and they don't seem to care what the residents want (made quite clear by the attendance at those meetings and hearings), or what it costs the city.

The "town center" they tout in their initiative is hardly in the center of Westlake Village, but rather is at the far east end of the city, really on the border of the city of Agoura.

But really most importantly, this initiative for which Lowe's is seeking signatures to get it on the ballot this fall, will, if enough signatures are obtained, cost the city of Westlake Village approximately $25,000 to $30,000. Barbara Erickson Westlake Village
