Local thieves on the prowl

During the last week of April, after I had gone to bed, my cellphone and check book were stolen from my unlocked car which was parked in my driveway in Liberty Canyon. Several days later, despite my canceling all my checks, $1,500 was electronically stolen from my checking account.

The following week, there were six similar nighttime thefts-cellphones, CDs, check books, etc.-from other unlocked cars in the Liberty Canyon neighborhood as reported in the Acorn's Sheriff's Blotter. This week's Acorn shows three more such thefts in Liberty Canyon.

As my theft, duly reported to the sheriff 's station, was not among those reported in the Acorn, I can only assume there have been even more of these thefts than I am aware of.

Please, everyone in the Liberty Canyon neighborhood, lock your cars at night. Our neighborhood is being specifically targeted by thieves. Andy Coradeschi Agoura Hills
