Neighborhood bear caught, released
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers A BEAR'S IN THERE-California Dept. of Fish and Game Deputy Mike Stefanak looks through a fence barricade in front of a culvert on the Countrywide Mortgage construction site on Russell Ranch Road in Westlake Village where a juvenile black bear hides before being lured into a trap last Friday. The bear was released in the nearby Los Padres National Forest, the second in the past month.

     PATRICK SHELBY/Acorn Newspapers TAKE ME HOME-Lillian Dugan of Thousand Oaks and Pat Wallace of Westlake Village offer some comfort to a four-footed friend from The Canine Adoption and Rescue League during the Celebration of Life Senior Festival at the Goebel Senior Adult Center last Saturday. The festival featured more than 40 information booths about community resources, programs and center activities. The day included live entertainment, lunch, a silent auction, pet adoptions and craft and hobby demonstrations.
