Los Robles names new board member

Ross Goldberg Ross Goldberg Ross Goldberg, founder and president of Kevin/Ross Public Relations, was recently elected to the board of trustees of Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center, Thousand Oaks. He will serve the remaining two years of a threeyear term held by Brian McNamee, senior vice president of human resources at Amgen. McNamee resigned due to an increase in professional commitments.

"We are extremely pleased to have Ross serving on our board and on our strategic planning subcommittee," said Jim Sherman, president and chief executive officer of Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center. "His extensive experience in healthcare public relations and marketing brings a new, fresh perspective on meeting the challenges hospitals continue to face."

With more than 30 years of experience in public relations and marketing communications, Gold-berg has represented companies from a wide spectrum of interests, especially focusing on healthcare, education, insurance, trade associations and not-for-profits.

Prior to founding Kevin/Ross eight years ago, he was senior vice president of communications and marketing for CareAmerica Health Plans, vice president corporate communications for UniHealth America and for its forerunner the Health West Foundation, and president of Pacific Media Associates, the company's wholly owned advertising agency.

"I'm honored to be elected to the board of Los Robles at such an exciting time in the hospital's history," said Goldberg, a Westlake Village resident. "I look forward to working hard to help assure that the hospital continues to fulfill its promise and potential as the leading healthcare facility in the entire Conejo Valley."

A frequent speaker and author on healthcare issues, Goldberg's views on the industry have been published in numerous consumer and trade publications nationwide; and he has been a leading advocate on the theme of "restoring public trust in healthcare."

He is a founding executive board member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development and one of only a handful of accredited healthcare public relations professionals in California. Goldberg has also been named by PR Week as one of the "Top 50 Healthcare Agency Executives" in the country.

Los Robles Regional Medical Center is a 265-bed acute care facility dedicated to serving the residents of Ventura County, the Conejo Valley and its surrounding communities.

The hospital is currently in a $120-million master plan expansion program.
