Chabad to celebrate Ten Commandments

The Shavuot holiday celebrates the giving of the Ten Commandments and the Torah (Bible) to the Jewish nation 3,318 years ago. Members of the Jewish community are invited to the "Conejo Mt. Sinai Experience" tomorrow, Fri., June 2, at the Chabad Centers. All ages are welcome.

The Ten Commandments will be read at 10 a.m. Fri., June 2. Children will be treated to special "Mt. Sinai ice cream cones" with choice of toppings. A sit-down dairy lunch will follow the service, with the traditional homemade cheesecake and a family pizza party.

Shavuot evening service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, with a morning service at 10 a.m. Sat., June 3.

An all-night learning experience on Friday evening will be

gin at midnight, with coffee and refreshments served throughout the evening.

"The traditional Tikkun Lail Shavuot study session prepares us for our rededication to the Torah," said Rabbi Moshe Bryski of Chabad.
