Critter Tail Bunny wows with his personalit
COTTON TALE-Mr. Oreo the rabbit lives a leisurely life with his family in Agoura Hills. The familsuspects Mr. Oreo sees himself as the family watch dog. Oreo the bunny was given to my husband, Max, and myself a little over six years ago by our dear friends the Rotters.
He was so little he fit into the palm of my hand.
At that time, I really did not want a pet. And a rabbit, of all
things! After all, rabbits just sat in their cages and ate and multiplied. Right?
Wrong.
Then I thought, how long could he really be with us...
Well, Mr. Oreo lives the life of Riley right here in Agoura Hills. We couldn't find it in our hearts to cage him, so we trained him to use the litter box until that became a little too much for us. He now just goes outside like a little puppy.
He jumps when I come home from work. He may not wag his tail, but when he nudges you and wants to be petted and returns the love by licking your hand for a very long time-well, you know you've made a difference in an animal's life.
Everyone who meets Oreo is amazed at his personality. He's a bunny with an attitude. If someone comes over who hasn't been here before, he actually stands in front of the door and checks them out before allowing them to enter.
A regular "watch rabbit."
Recently he made friends with a couple of cottontail rabbits that now hang out with him.
From what I'm told, Oreo has lived longer than most rabbits. Who knows, maybe it's because he hasn't been caged. Whatever the reason, he has brought many smiles to us over the years. And he deserves recognition. Jo Ann Mondrus Agoura Hills
