Reader likes Brownley in 41st

By voting for Julia Brownley for Assembly, we in the 41st District can continue the tradition of insightful leadership and legislative creativity that Shelia Keuhl and Fran Pavley have trailblazed.

Julia's commitment to public education is unflagging, both in her personal life-her children attended public, not private, schools-and in her professional life as president of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School Board. In this role, she has made her school district a national model for educational excellence, demonstrating fiscal good sense, an acute understanding of complex educational issues and a rare ability to negotiate successfully the broad range of diverse and sometimes competing interests among her constituents.

Voters can trust that Julia will effectively fight to preserve open space, protect our oceans (as demonstrated by her opposition to the proposed Schwarzenegger-supported LNG facility off the Malibu coast) and to protect that natural treasure which we love, the Santa Monica Mountains.
