Calabasas resident to speak at University of Judaism commencement

Evan Blank, a Calabasas resident and 2002 graduate of Calabasas High School, will be the featured speaker at the University of Judaism's commencement on May 21.

Blank will also receive the university's prestigious Highest Academic Achievement Award and be recognized for being named to the dean's list for each of his eight semesters in attendance at the school.

Blank is graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in film, communications and media.

During his university career, Blank has served internships at various film companies and with a noted Hollywood independent

producer for whom he will work as American liaison for a film being shot this summer.

Blank is also on the steering board of the Jewish Federation's entertainment division.

In addition to his studies, Blank has been a black belt karate instructor for the last nine years at The Way in Agoura Hills.
