Annual duck race will benefit Many Mansions

Grand prize is $5,000 cash

Many Mansions will present the eighth annual "Duck Race" from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sun., May 21 at The Lakes, 2200 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks, adjacent to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.

Fees to "adopt-a-duck" are $10 for one duck, $50 for a "sixquack," $100 for a "silver flock" of 13, $200 for a "golden flock" of 30 and $1,000 for a "platinum flock" of 200. To adopt, visit the website www.duckrace.com/ thousandoaks.

The grand prize is $5,000 cash. Second prize is a weekend getaway at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Westlake Village. Third prize is a one-year membership to Total Woman Gym.

At 12:30 p.m. a preliminary race will be staged. The preliminary race prize is "A Day at the Lakes."

At 2 p.m., 10,000 rubber ducks will be released for the main race.

Proceeds from the duck race will support Many Mansions' Children Services in its efforts to provide safe, well-managed affordable housing and life-enriching services for limited income families and individuals in Ventura County.
