Kaiser to host free seminars for women's health week

In celebration of National Women's Health Week, Kaiser Permanente will sponsor a series of free community health seminars from May 15 to 19 at its medical center at 5601 DeSoto Ave., Woodland Hills.

Topics will focus on heart disease, diabetes, weight management, osteoporosis, stress reduction and genetic screening of female cancer diseases.

In addition, there will be information on heart health, nutrition, cancer prevention and family planning, among other topics.

Healthcare providers will be on hand to answer questions. Kaiser Permanente members also will be able to receive same-day mam-mograms, Pap smear tests and other health screenings.

The activities will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.mMonday, Wednesday and Friday

and from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. The event iopen to the public.
