YMCA raises funds throughout region

The Southeast Ventura County YMCAs-Conejo Valley YMCA, Simi Valley Family YMCA and Triunfo YMCA-raised more than $400,000 during their annual "Family-to-Family" fund drive that takes place every February.

Dollars raised during the Family-to-Family campaign provide financial assistance, scholarships and camperships to families that want to participate in YMCA programs but can't afford the full fees.

"Through the years, generous donations from the community have helped hundreds of kids attend our away-camps and participate in our parent-child, child-care and swim programs," said John Rutherford, president of the southeast Ventura County YMCA.

Funds raised also support building and grounds improvement projects and new youth and adult programs.

"We appreciate every donation from private individuals and corporations," said Rutherford.
