Students join in protest of Ugandan violence

Photo courtesy of Jacob Bradosky Students from Oaks Christian School, Agoura High School and other teens from throughout the Conejo Valley participated in a "Global Night Commute" on Sat., April 29 at Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village.

The event was part of a 136city nationwide effort.

The teens-and even some adults-were encouraged to walk or take public transportation to the school's football stadium where they slept outside for the night to help raise awareness of the plight of thousands of wartorn children in northern Uganda.

While there, they wrote letters to the Ugandan children and to their U.S. representatives urging them to stem the violence in the African nation.
