Heschel West hosts gala

Heschel West Day School of Agoura Hills has announced the honorees for its annual fundraising gala on Sun., May 7 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

The honorees include Richard Wentz, senior legal counsel at Countrywide, who will receive the Outstanding Leadership Award.

The Family Dedication Award will be presented to Elayne and Walter Wentz, Jean and Richard Wentz, Karen and David Wacker and Sherri Wentz.

The Shirley G. Levine Award will be given to Sherri Wentz.

The Excellence in Education Award will go to Lyford Rome, director of technology at Heschel West.

"We are all privileged to acknowledge the accomplishments of this year's honorees at the Gala. They have contributed so much to our school, the students and the community. We are proud that they have accepted this honor," said David Rifkind, president of Heschel West board of directors.

The proceeds from the Gala directly support the education of the children at Heschel West, a Jewish Day School in Agoura Hills since 1994. Currently Heschel West educates 220 students in grades transitional-kindergarten through sixth grade and will be opening a seventh grade this fall.
