Musical, picnic for Methodists

"The Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit," a musical written by Tom S. Long and Allen Pote, will be presented in the 9 and 10:30 a.m. worship services Sun., May 7 at the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, 1049 Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

The Melody Makers choir of thirdto sixth-graders will sing and act this version of the David and Goliath story. The play is directed by Nancy Phillipson and accompanied by Jane Chapman.

Following the last service, the All-Church Picnic will be at Reyes Adobe Park in Agoura Hills from noon to 4 p.m. Worshipers are invited to wear blue jeans to church this day.

The Rev. Dr. Gary Alan Dickey will speak at the 8 a.m. casual service in Alton Hall.

Sunday School classes for all ages will meet at 9 a.m. Childcare will be available during the 9 and 10:30 services.
