Spring garden tours underway at Malibu Lagoon Docents of the Malibu Lagoon Museum/Adamson House in Malibu are offering one-hour spring garden tours at 10 a.m. every Friday, followed by a one-hour tour of the historic Adamson House and a visit to the museum. The site is at 23200 Pacific Coast Highway. The fee for tours is $5. Group tours, by reservation only, are at 10 a.m. every Tuesday. Docent-conducted tours of the Adamson House (only) are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (last tour ends at 3 p.m.) Wednesdays through Saturdays. The garden is part of Malibu Lagoon State Beach and is open from 8 a.m. to dusk daily. The 13-acre beach site is filled with historical and unusual plants, shrubs and trees. The gardens have a variety of native and exotic vegetation combined with seasonal flowers and surrounded by Surfrider and Malibu Lagoon beaches. The Adamson House was designed by architect Stiles Clements, featuring tiles from the May Rindge tile business called Malibu Potteries. The Spanish Colonial Revival structures contain the Malibu Lagoon Museum with historic artifacts and photos of the Spanish era Rancho Malibu. The gift/book shop features replica Malibu tiles. Free parking is available on a first come, first served basis on PCH adjacent to the garden and for a fee in adjacent parking lots.
