Let freedom ring, club says

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge will host its 42nd annual patriotic celebration, "Wings of Freedom" on Sun., May 7 at Sherwood Country Club, 320 W. Stafford Road, Thousand Oaks.

Actress/entrepreneur/humanitarian Connie Stevens will be the event's honoree, recognized for her work to improve the lives of underprivileged and special needs youth.

The event gets underway with a reception at 1 p.m. Wink Martindale is master of ceremonies. A luncheon and patriotic program will begin at 2 p.m. There will be a color guard, national anthem sung by Carol Connors and a children's group acting out the Constitution in song in a presentation "Celebration U.S.A.- Catch the Spirit."

An "Americana" concert will be presented. Joseph Gold will perform romantic violin music and concert pianist Mary Au will play.
