Big box, big problems

Once again this subject is rearing its ugly head, but this time I'm not going to remain silent on this issue.

I live on the little lake of Lake Lindero in Agoura. My little piece of paradise is slowly being eroded by the construction at Lindero and the 101. It started with the office park at Russell Ranch Road, which now regularly illuminates the night sky, glaring down on my once serene back deck, on which I could gaze at the stars and pretend for a short while that I lived somewhere far from the city.

I find it ironic that they keep referring to this as a Westlake project when, in my mind, it is closer to an Agoura Hills project since it is directly infringing on the Agoura residents.

The threat of Lowe's is appalling to everything that we Agoura residents hold dear. Even though the freeway runs through our back yard, we have managed to keep the hills around us green and relatively unscathed. And yet we still have the greed of Westlake ready to infringe on any available space we have next to us.

Enough. Please, everyone, stand up and sound off. We don't want Lowe's here. Lorraine Donen Agoura Hills
