Baseball, softball competition open for youth

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services will host the ninth annual Pepsi: Pitch, Hit and Run Competition on Sun., May 7 at Forest Cove Park, 5451 Forest Cove Lane, Agoura Hills. This contest is free to participants.

Registration is at 1:30 p.m., with the competition starting at 2 p.m.

This contest is for youth ages 7 to 14 and will test baseball/softball skills such as hitting for accuracy and distance, fielding balls and throwing them quickly, and base running speed.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/ 12 and 13/14 with boys and girls competing together. Age is determined by the deadline date of July 17.

All participants will receive a certificate and ribbon. Those with the highest scores in each age and skill division will advance to the sectional competition.
