Westlake freshman baseball team wins Newbury Park Tournament

The Westlake freshman baseball team won the Newbury Park Tournament during spring break by sweeping Agoura, Moorpark, Calabasas and Dos Pueblos.

On the mound, Alec Hess won two games and recorded 32 strikeouts for the Warriors, while Luis Rueda posted a 3.18 ERA during the tournament.

Westlake's offense was led by John Travnick's eight hits and four RBI.

In addition, James Ryan batted .429 in four games, Steven Hagy scored six runs and had six hits and Nick Correlli hit a robust .417. The Warriors are coached by Jason Branham.
