Sign-ups open for YMCA summer programs

The Triunfo YMCA will host its summer programs sign up day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., April 22 at Willow Elementary School, 29026 Laro Drive, Agoura Hills.

Sign-ups will be taken for day camps at local elementary schools, resident camps and swim lessons.

"We have a camp designed for every age group and activities for just about every child's interest," said Chrissy Withers, Triunfo YMCA program director.

"The activities are age appropriate and are character building."

Major field trips and travel are for older campers (third through eighth graders). Younger campers (kindergarteners through second graders) will take local trips and participate in camp-based activities.

For Las Virgenes Unified School District students, camp is from June 26 through July 27. Oak Park Unified School District students participate in camp from June 20 through July 27.

Resident camps will be at Camp Fox on Catalina Island and Surf Caravan Camp in San Diego.

"These one-week camps are for older campers who want to take part in a variety of outdoor sports," said Withers.

YMCA swim lessons will be given at the Agoura High School

pool for all swim levels and age groups. Four swim sessions are available, with the first session from June 19 to 29.
