Unfair to deny Lowe's

If one has been following the debate about whether or not there will be a Lowe's on Russell Ranch Road in Westlake Village, in the vicinity of Costco, consider this.

As you sit at home in North Ranch, the Ridge, Sherwood, Russell Ranch, Morrison Ranch or anywhere built on a ridge line, remember that you, too, were not wanted.

Go to the lobby of Coldwell Banker on Townsgate Road and look at the sprawling open spaces that were once Westlake, Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks. And maybe we should take back the 40 or so buildings that Amgen either owns or occupies.

Now Lowe's wants to make a home here with us in this community. After the Dole conglomeration is built and after Calvary Community expanded their facility, is the ark finally full?

The Lowe's center will not be a Promenade where the parking is limited. It will have first-class restaurants and other fine amenities. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of driving all the way to Wendy Drive to get what I need. And I for one do not want another four-story office building that contributes nothing to our community, but an area where they will plant trees, walkways and fountains to enhance the beauty of Westlake Village.
