Theater good for Calabasas

Our family is a theater family and when I heard that Calabasas was considering building a theater as part of their civic project, my heart leapt. Finally, a venue close to home, within a community that passionately supports the arts and which understands the value of live theater.

With our proximity to Los Angeles, it's absurd that we in western Los Angeles County don't have a significant venue and outlet for live theater. As mentioned in other letters to The Acorn, we will drive 20 miles from here to theaters in Hollywood, Pasadena, Westwood, Thousand Oaks or Ventura, yet we can't get our ducks in a row to develop a decent regional theater based in western L.A. County?

That's just crazy.

The talent is here. The money is here. The know-how is here. Why not work to develop a resource that we can all be proud of? Sean Harrington Woodland Hills
